Our Church Building The village of Reedsburg was only two years old in 1850 when the first church, The Methodist Episcopal, was founded in a home with twelve members. Eight of those members were women.

From 1850 to 1908 the congregation moved from a tabernacle to a larger frame building and then committed to building the brick church. The new church was dedicated on January 24, 1909.

In 1910, the 65th West Wisconsin Conference was held in Reedsburg. The conference was also held in Reedsburg in 1950 which was the one-hundredth anniversary of the founding of the Methodist Church in Reedsburg.

The church membership was increased over the years by two groups. The first in 1921 when members from the Chapel, located east of Reedsburg, joined the Methodist Church. The second in 1966 when the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged to form the United Methodist Church. The EUB Church was originally established in Reedsburg in 1915.

Our present building was started and the cornerstone placed in 1969. The first service in the new sanctuary was held on Maundy Thursday, March 26, 1970.
